The first video which is similar to the one I want to create is "First time he kissed a boy" by Kadie Elder, first released in late 2014 it now has over 15 million views on youtube. This music video depicts 3 teenagers playing a game of tennis when they see a boy sitting on a bench instead of being nice they mock him for his sexuality, once they have finished the game one of the boys sneaks behind a shed to meet with the homosexual boy instead of fighting they end up kissing one another, then the others come along in disbelief and it ends there. This video is incredibly similar to the video I want to make as I am protesting against homosexuality.

This scene shows a long-shot where the props used, tennis rackets, are used to torment the innocent boy. This shot clearly highlights bullying and as we later find out he is homosexual so we can only assume they were bullying him for that. The use of pastel colour clothes highlights the good nature, suggesting to the audience something good may happen at the end.

 The close up is used to show her disbelief expression and shock the viewers. The use of chewing gum in this shot is used for comedic purposes almost to make the viewer laugh at her for mocking others for being different. The use of warm colours shown in this shot is used to highlight the good in a society that still remains.

The shot here used is a long-shot. This shot is used here because it clearly shows the two boys together in love and the two bullies opposite them still in shock, not willing to hurt their friend. The use of the fence in front of the camera suggests they're almost trapped for being different which clearly highlights the issues in today's society.


The next video which is similar to the one I want to create is "Take me to church" by Hozier. First released in late 2014 it has now been viewed over 350 million times on Youtube. This video depicts two men trying their best to hide a small locked chest. These two men are gay as we can see them kissing later on. They are then also followed by a gang of masked thugs carrying weapons. We see the thugs breaking into a house and dragging one of the men out of the house they are then seen to film and beat the man, we never find out if the man is killed, but we can speculate that he was killed at the end due to his lack of movements.

The use of an over-the-shoulder shot here is used to highlight vulnerability and danger. In this wide-angle shot, we also see a man lying on the floor not moving being badly beaten by around 7 men. We don't know if the man was killed or not, leaving the viewer shocked and worried for his safety.

The use of this following shot puts the viewer in a sympathetic position as they are forced to follow the worried man trying to stop his friend's potential execution. The use of the black and white colour gives this video an eery atmosphere. The use of the rapid changing shots here suggest the editing is used to mimic the man's heartbeat, forcing the viewer to be in an uncomfortable position just like the man is.
